In the context of globalization and increased mobility, due to over-specialization and time-space compression, we find ourselves facing a paradox: we are increasingly locked in our field and communication between research, practice and future generations is becoming increasingly precarious.
Our symposium on "Sustainable Tourism Destinations" is intended as a bridge between past, present and future, through strong involvement of scientists in the field of tourism geography and tourism industry providers, as well as of local and national authorities and especially of the future generations.
